Paul Pluschkell

Paul Pluschkell is a Healthcare Advisor on Mindbowser’s Advisory Board. He brings deep expertise in healthcare technology strategy, go-to-market decision-making, and a founder-operator perspective built over 25+ years as a serial entrepreneur and executive.

He is a 5x founder, with two successful acquisitions to his name, and currently serves as CEO and Co-Founder of StartupOS alongside his advisory role at Mindbowser.

#The Serial Founder# Who Keeps Asking the Questions Vendors Won’t

Paul’s career did not begin in healthcare. It began with infrastructure.

He built and led at the intersection of telecom and enterprise technology during the era when internet infrastructure was being decided, not inherited. As President of Next Gen Broadband at Global Crossing, he ran a $650M division at the height of the dot-com wave.

That experience shaped something specific: an operator’s instinct for where technology cycles peak, where they break, and what actually survives long enough to matter.

He carried that instinct through five founding rounds. Spigit, from 2007 to 2014, was acquired by Planview. Kandy.io, from 2014 to 2017, was acquired by Sonos. EPICDX, from 2017 to 2021, brought him into healthcare directly. StartupOS, from 2021 to present, is his current build.

Alongside that, he advises Mindbowser on healthcare technology strategy.

What 25 years across that arc builds is not domain expertise in one vertical. It is something rarer: the ability to read a market’s maturity, spot the gap between what buyers say they need and what they actually fund, and ask the questions that founders inside a space stop asking.

That is what Paul brings to Mindbowser as an advisor. When a healthcare organization is evaluating a technology strategy, Paul brings the lens of someone who has been on the builder’s side of that bet, more than once.

About Paul Pluschkell

Serial founder. Operator. Advisor. 25 years of building things that had to work in the market, not just on the deck.

Today

Paul serves as Healthcare Advisor on Mindbowser’s Advisory Board. He concurrently serves as CEO and Co-Founder of StartupOS, a platform focused on the startup ecosystem.

He advises on healthcare technology strategy, go-to-market positioning, and founder-operator thinking for health tech clients.

Where It Began

Paul’s foundation is not in healthcare. It is in infrastructure and enterprise technology during the era when those markets were being built from the ground up.

His early work across MXNet, IXnet, and Global Crossing taught him to operate at scale under real market pressure.

That experience also taught him how technology adoption decisions are made when the stakes are high, and the cycle is moving fast, a skill that transfers cleanly into healthcare, where the same dynamics apply with higher consequences for getting it wrong.

"I've watched three or four technology markets peak and break. Healthcare is in one right now. The companies that figure out where the adoption ceiling actually is, not where they want it to be, are the ones still standing in five years"

How Paul Actually Works

Paul’s advisory value comes from having been accountable for market outcomes across cycles that most advisors have only watched. He:
• Reads the healthcare technology market by its adoption curve, not its feature set
• Asks where the buyer actually is in the cycle before advising on positioning
• Applies pattern recognition from prior market cycles, including telecom, SaaS, collaboration, and innovation management, to spot where healthcare technology is heading
• Stress tests go-to-market strategy by asking what has failed in analogous markets and why
• Evaluates investment and strategy decisions by what operators with real P&L accountability would actually approve
• Brings the founder’s instinct for when to build, when to buy, and when to wait
Five companies. Two exits. The market teaches what the deck cannot.
