Remote monitoring for elderly populations has a structural tension: the clinical depth care teams need adds complexity that elderly users can't navigate. The client needed both sides solved at once.
Vitals, appointments, activities, and time spent across a patient population each ran on separate tools or manual processes, with no shared data layer underneath.
Integrating data from multiple Bluetooth-enabled blood pressure monitors and wearables meant handling stable pairing and reliable data transfer across different device types, without technical steps for elderly users.
Standard healthcare app patterns, multi-step flows, small touch targets, dense dashboards, were non-starters for this population. The interface had to stay accessible without losing clinical value.

We built the patient mobile app with elderly users as the primary design constraint from the start: larger buttons, simplified navigation, reduced steps per task, and layouts optimized for readability, alongside real-time vital tracking and trend insights.
The care manager portal centralizes assigned patients, upcoming appointments, cumulative time spent, and live vital readings, so no one is reviewing profiles one by one to find who needs attention.
The admin portal shares the care manager portal's core infrastructure and adds platform-wide visibility, device tracking, and CPT-eligible billing so nothing has to be calculated by hand.
Designing for elderly users independently meant simplifying complex workflows and increasing touch targets while preserving the clinical functionality care managers accessed from the same underlying data. BLE protocol handling had to hold stable pairing and reliable transfer across different device types, since devices behaved differently under real-world use. And logging care manager hours accurately across multiple users, patients, and concurrent sessions required careful data modeling at the tracking layer to keep report generation fast.
