A dental practice management software company needed a unified platform built specifically for dental workflows, not adapted from general healthcare software. Mindbowser built the full MVP on a serverless AWS architecture, from UX design through backend engineering, integrations, and production deployment.

Unifying scheduling, billing, and communication into one serverless platform changed how the practice runs day to day.
Reduction in administrative time across patient registration, appointment scheduling, and billing
Reduction in appointment no-shows through automated Twilio SMS and email notifications
Improvement in patient satisfaction scores through procedure tracking and visual period charting
General healthcare platforms treated dental care as an afterthought, leaving practices to stitch together separate tools for every function.
Clinical documentation, billing, patient communication, and appointment scheduling each ran on separate tools with no shared data layer, forcing staff to manage fragmented processes and re-enter data by hand.
Appointment reminders and follow-ups were handled manually. Missed appointments accumulated with no automated way to keep patients informed, reducing productivity and degrading the patient experience.
Insurance API integration required significant coordination with external providers' technical teams. Payment processing, automated notifications, and patient data all needed to work reliably on a serverless AWS architecture the team was building on for the first time.
A serverless AWS architecture designed to hold patient profiles, procedures, invoices, and communication logs in one place.
We built the platform frontend in Angular hosted on AWS, with Lambda functions handling patient and provider profile management, appointment data, and media uploads. DynamoDB stores patient profiles, procedure records, invoices, and communication logs in a single structured database.
Providers can link specific procedures to individual appointments, with each procedure tied to a specific tooth number, connecting billing and clinical documentation directly to the appointment rather than managing them separately. An interactive period chart gives providers a clear view of treatment histories and planned procedures for more personalized, documented care.
We integrated Twilio for automated appointment confirmation texts and email reminders. Patient opt-in status and SMS delivery tracking are stored in DynamoDB in real time, giving the practice an accurate view of which patients have received and confirmed their appointment communications.
We built Stripe payment processing into the platform, handling transaction initiation and real-time payment status tracking tied directly to appointment and procedure records, so billing runs alongside clinical documentation instead of as a separate administrative step.
