A dental membership platform serving 4,000+ practices and more than a million members needed its website fixed twice: first for speed, then for structure. Mindbowser cut load time by 67% in one engagement, then rebuilt the site around two separate information architectures in the next, one for DSOs and practices, one for patients.

Two separate engagements, two distinct sets of problems. Both traced back to the same root: the website hadn't kept pace with the platform's growth.
N+1 query problems on every page load, no caching layer, uncompressed images, and no Gzip or lazy loading turned an already-slow backend into a broken front end.
Users weren't grasping the value proposition through text and static imagery alone, and the design read as dated next to where the platform actually stood in the market.
DSOs evaluating the platform and patients looking for affordable care were funneled through the same navigation, and neither got a clear path to what they needed.
Navigation created friction, content presentation was outdated, and SEO performance lagged behind the product's actual scale.
The stack spanned backend performance work, a full IA rebuild, and the process that got both right the first time.
We worked through the backend and frontend issue lists systematically rather than chasing symptoms. Twelve seconds became four.
A Design Sprint before any code showed users weren't absorbing the value proposition through text and static imagery. We replaced it with full-screen popover video integrated into the design theme, taking over the screen when triggered rather than sitting in a classic embedded player. On career and about pages, we swapped stock photography for real office imagery: real people, real spaces, the client's actual culture.
The core decision was building two separate information architectures within one site, one for B2B evaluators and one for B2C patients. DSOs and practices got a clear path to features, pricing, partnership terms, case studies, and ROI evidence. Patients got membership benefits, payment options, doctor listings, and appointment scheduling, organized the way a patient actually thinks about finding care. Two paths, no overlap, sharing only a login page.
Wireframes were mapped and approved before any aesthetic work started. Once structure was locked, we brought in modern visual design, high-quality photography and illustration, a brand identity update, and responsive layouts with card-based elements for dense information. Meta tag cleanup and content structure improvements were built into the redesign, not bolted on afterward.
