EHR system integration connects an electronic health record to other clinical systems — labs, imaging, devices, HIEs, payers, and care management tools — so patient data flows automatically between them. It eliminates manual re-entry, reduces errors, and gives your care team a complete view of each patient without switching systems.
Mindbowser integrates with Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks (eCW), NextGen, MEDITECH, Allscripts, and 20+ other EHRs. Integration can be FHIR R4/R4B, SMART on FHIR, HL7 v2, or proprietary API depending on what the EHR supports.
HL7 v2 is the older standard (pipe-delimited messages) used in most legacy EHR-to-lab workflows. FHIR (R4/R4B) is the modern REST-based standard required for ONC/CMS mandates and supported by all major EHRs as of 2024. Most new builds use FHIR; legacy environments often need a FHIR-to-HL7 bridge for backwards compatibility.
